Let’s not beat about the bush, this week’s machines are big machines for big jobs. They don’t come up on the used access platform marketplace very often and we expect them to be snapped up!
Known as superbooms or ultrabooms by the manufacturers, these are expensive investments if buying from new. It’s important to get this decision right as it can make all the difference when it comes to cost effectiveness, efficiency and, of course, safety. This is why we can help.
The booms in this week’s list will get you to the right height, or help you access the trickiest spot. As always, we supply them fully serviced, tested and inspected and you have the option to have them fully repainted with, if needed, a brand new LOLER certificate.
Articulated booms
Articulated booms have several hinged sections which allow drivers to negotiate over and between obstacles making them ideal for confined spaces where you need to access hard-to-reach areas.
While these machines offer versatility, they don’t have as much horizontal outreach as telescopic booms – so if that’s your main priority you might prefer to skip to the machines in the next section.
Genie ZX135/70
Designed for large scale jobs and more challenging tasks, this impressive machine is built for heavy duty construction, manufacturing and maintenance jobs. If you have a steel construction project, this will be ideal.
We also like this Genie’s four-wheel steer with front-wheel, rear-wheel, crab and coordinated steer options which give additional manoeuvrability even on rough ground.
