The IPAF Summit 2024 takes place in Denmark on 13th and 14th March 2024. The event, at the Scandic Copenhagen Hotel is once again being organised jointly by Access International (you can find them at AccessBriefing.com) and IPAF, The International Powered Access Federation, which promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide.
The IAPA Summit comprises 4 events over 2 days; a site visit, networking reception, the IPAF Summit conference and the IAPA Dinner & Awards.
Last year Vicki, Jade and Chris attended the event in Berlin and during the gala awards ceremony on the evening of 20th April, Vicki was presented with the ‘Equality, Diversity & Inclusion’ (EDI) award. The judges said Vicki was a ‘trailblazer for women both in, and joining the industry’, and ‘is committed to the personal development of her employees’.
The EDI award is one of 13 categories which include ‘Access Rental Company of the Year’, the ‘Sustainability Award’ and the ‘Innovative Technology Prize’. There are prizes too for the best new products as well as individuals contributing the most to training and a lifetime achievement award. In 2023 this went to Dante Fracca, founder of Hinowa.
Peter Douglas, CEO and managing director of IPAF, said of the 2023 awards “We had a fabulous set of entries across the various awards categories, and the competition was fierce. A very well deserved congratulations to all the winners, and for all the companies or individuals shortlisted but not selected as winners this year.”
The 2024 IAPA awards will, once again, represent the global access industry at its highest level and encourage individuals and companies to demonstrate their best practice.
The event in Copenhagen is expected to be attended by 450 industry professionals.
It is the first time Vicki has been invited to be a judge for the IAPAs. The international panel of judges includes Dawei He, Global Sales & Marketing Director of Sinoboom, Elisabeth Ausimour, President of Manitou’s Production Division and Vipul Tildian, Managing Partner of Rentease International in India. The fifth judge is Pedro Torres, the CEO of Riwal, Europes largest access specialist rental company.
As one of the 5 independent judges, Vicki’s long-standing expertise in the MEWP industry mean she is well positioned to make a useful contribution to identify this year’s winners.
Vicki said: “I am delighted to have been invited to join the international panel of IAPA judges. We take the job of selecting the winners, who represent the highest standards in our industry, extremely seriously and I am expecting the decisions to be hard. The 2 day event in Copenhagen is the highlight of the year, and I am looking forward to taking part.”
